Question:

361 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the current position regarding the application by Comhair Breannain, Shanakill, Tralee, County Kerry, for national lottery funds to build a community centre; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14932/00]

In excess of 1,600 applications for funding were received under the sports capital programme for 2000.

An application for funding under the programme has been received from the organisation in question. This application, together with all other applications, will be evaluated against the programme's assessment criteria, which are outlined in the guidelines which accompanied the application form. I intend to announce the grant allocations at the earliest possible date following completion of this assessment process.

362 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the current position in relation to an application for approval by an association (details supplied) in County Donegal for a sports grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15136/00]
