Vol. 520 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

381 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Education and Science when work will commence on the new extension at the Holy Family School, Cootehill; whether his Department or architects for the project communicated with the parents association recently; if there a provision for a music room with a qualified music teacher for this school; if there are separate rooms for a psychologist, a physiotherapist and a room for a doctor who calls to the school on a monthly basis; and if a sensory room will be provided to facilitate children who get agitated or who just need to be stimulated such as the very physical children who cannot move. [15066/00]

My Department is currently processing an application from the management authorities of the school in question for grant aid towards additional accommodation. At this early stage, it is not possible to say the extent of the accommodation to be provided or when construction will commence.

My Department will keep the board of management informed of developments.
