Vol. 520 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Noonan

Question:

415 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will grant an allowance similar to that allowed to teachers studying for a diploma in special education to teachers attending the post graduate diploma in information and communication technologies in education courses; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15370/00]

Claims for the payment of qualification allowances to teachers are generally raised by the teacher unions through the normal industrial relations process for teachers. My Department will deal with this issue through that process in the event of a formal claim being submitted.
