181 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received a request for the amalgamation of Our Lady of Fatima and St. Felims secondary school and Ballina more vocational school on a new site with one school; and when will he provide the funding for this project. I can confirm that I have received correspondence from one of the schools in question in relation to the provision of a new school on one site to cater for the educational needs of all second-level pupils in the Ballinamore area.
The planning section of my Department proposes to arrange a meeting with the trustees of the schools involved to discuss this proposal. The question of funding for the project will be addressed in the event that a consensus for the development is achieved among the parties concerned.
