Vol. 520 No. 2

Written Answers. - National Museum.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

51 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the proposals she has received from the management of the National Museum regarding extended opening hours of the museum and especially the question of opening on bank holiday Mondays; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [15313/00]

As I have indicated in my reply to Deputy Ryan's Question No. 63 of 12 April 2000, the proposals on extending the opening hours are being examined in the context of the resources available to the National Museum of Ireland. It would be inappropriate and premature to the reveal their content at this juncture.
