Vol. 520 No. 3

Written Answers. - State Cars.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

65 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will consider using a more energy-efficient State car than the ones now being used. [15078/00]

There are a number of factors taken into account when determining the choice of State cars. These include safety, reliability, capacity, suitability for long journeys, cost effectiveness and availability of fuel. I have been advised that the car currently in use by me is one of the most energy efficient vehicles in its class.
