96 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon will be called to Sligo General Hospital to have her tonsils removed; the reason for the delay in carrying out this procedure; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15812/00]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the North-Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
