254 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will ensure full Garda co-operation with the Dutch authorities to seize all assets associated with the murder of a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16464/00]
I am informed by the Garda authorities that the Garda National Drugs Unit has been working very closely with the Dutch authorities in relation to a number of criminal organisations operating both in the Netherlands and Ireland.
I have been assured by the Garda authorities that this co-operation will continue and the Garda national drugs unit will provide specific assistance to the Dutch authorities when same is requested.
In relation to the person referred to by the Deputy, the Garda authorities have informed me that the issue of the seizure of any assets would be dealt with in accordance with current legislation.
