Vol. 521 No. 1

Written Answers. - Land Registry.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

253 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the discussions, if any, he has had in regard to decentralising the entire Land Registry to Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16403/00]

As the Deputy is already aware the Land Registry Office in Waterford is a constituent office of the Land Registry dealing with all aspects of registration for Counties Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Waterford, Tipperary, Laois, Offaly, Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford.

The Deputy will be aware of the Government policy on decentralisation of Government offices. The question of which Government offices will be decentralised will be decided by the Government in the near future.
