270 Mr. Fleming asked the Minister for Education and Science the current position on the assessment of education needs both at primary and secondary level in Portlaoise which was commissioned by the Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16460/00]
Arising from the recently commissioned assessment of the educational infrastructural needs of Portlaoise, a draft report has now been received in my Department. The draft report is currently being studied. Upon completion of this study, consideration will be given to adopting the report in its existing format or seeking amendments to the draft. I will keep the Deputy informed of developments in this matter as they arise.
