Question:

127 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if, in relation to the ongoing problem associated with the large number of abandoned cars throughout the country, he will outline the number of prosecutions which have been instituted against persons committing this offence in each of the past three years. [15566/00]

Enforcement and implementation of legislation regarding abandoned vehicles is a matter for local authorities and information on the number of prosecutions instituted in relation to offences under relevant legislation is not available in my Department.
