Vol. 521 No. 3

Written Answers. - Road Openings.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

126 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will direct Fingal County Council to liaise with Eircom and NTL, whose apparent decision to install separate understreet pipe ducting for Telecom services, is the major reason for the devastation being inflicted on the streets, pathways and open spaces of Baldoyle, Sutton and Howth. [17019/00]

I refer to the reply to Question No. 101 of 25 May 2000. The Minister for the Environment and Local Government has no function in relation to the exercise by road authorities in particular cases of their powers in relation to control of road openings.
