Vol. 521 No. 4

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Denis Naughten

Question:

191 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the plans, if any, he has to increase the grant available for group sewerage schemes in view of the recent Bacon reports and the pending Bacon report highlighting the need for increased housing development; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17363/00]

Willie Penrose

Question:

195 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will take steps to substantially increase the grant payable for group sewerage schemes; if the grant for each affiliated dwelling will be increased from the current level of £1,600 per house to 85% of the approved construction, subject to a cost limit of £6,000 per house and a maximum grant of £5,100 per house, which is similar to that recently announced for group water schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17397/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 191 and 195 together.

I refer to the reply to Question No. 201 of 19 April 2000.
