Vol. 521 No. 4

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Jack Wall

Question:

291 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will have investigations made into the delay in acquiring a site and commencing planning for a new VEC school in Athy, County Kildare, which was sanctioned in November 1999, in view of the fact this project was regarded as high priority owing to the condition of the current facility which is also a designated disadvantaged school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17258/00]

County Kildare Vocational Education Committee has investigated a number of potential sites in Athy for a proposed new vocational school. The committee's report has been forwarded to my Department and a decision shall be forthcoming on this matter shortly.
