Vol. 521 No. 5

Written Answers. - Shared Ownership Scheme.

Willie Penrose

Question:

136 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if his Department has finalised its review of the income limits which determines eligibility for participation in the shared ownership scheme; the steps he will take to increase the maximum eligibility limit from £20,000 to £30,000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17650/00]

The income limits for eligibility for the shared ownership scheme have been increased from £20,000 to £25,000 in the previous income tax year for a single income household with a pro rata increase for a dual income household. The revised income limits, which took effect on 15 June 2000, were published in the Government's policy document Action on Housing and have been notified to local authorities.
