Vol. 522 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Willie Penrose

Question:

146 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary was not paid the balance of 1998 beef premium grant; the reason for the delay in this regard; if difficulties will be resolved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17941/00]

The person named applied for special beef premium in 1998 on a total of 27 animals.

However, as the person named did not submit a 1998 area aid application, his entitlement under the premia schemes was restricted to 15 reckonable livestock units, details as outlined below :

10 bullocks @ .6 Livestock Units

6 LUs

9 bullocks @ 1 Livestock Unit

9 LUs

The above named was paid in full for these 19 animals with the final payments issuing on 18 and 19 May 1999. As he exceeded his stocking limit of 15 livestock units, the remaining eight animals are deemed to have received the instalment of the premium claimed on and cannot be re-applied on again in the same age category.
