Vol. 522 No. 2

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Question:

154 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will instruct the Land Commission to expedite the completion of a vesting order of a particular division of land (details supplied) for lodgement in the Land Registry Office as the delay since 1993 is causing severe hardship for those involved. [18147/00]

Documentation in my Department suggests that this division of land was held freehold in 1922, but this is in dispute. However it appears from Land Registry files that title is in fact in the name of the Congested Districts Board. There is ongoing contact between the Land Registry Office, solicitors for the person named and a solicitor in my Department. If a vesting order is necessary to regularise the title this will be completed without further delay.
