Vol. 522 No. 2

Written Answers. - Health Services.

Michael Ring

Question:

217 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if the Western Health Board will cover the travel costs of people in Ballina, County Mayo who must travel to Castlebar or Manorhamilton for physiotherapy until a service is provided in Ballina; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17953/00]

The provision of travel costs incurred by an individual in respect of health services is solely a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board with a request that she examine the query and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
