218 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of victims of unprovoked attacks presenting at casualty departments of hospitals in the Dublin area; if such statistics are available; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17954/00]

The information requested by the Deputy is not routinely collected by my Department. It has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
