Vol. 522 No. 2

Written Answers. - Cancer Incidence.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

257 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Health and Children if the National Cancer Registry is now in a position to give details of the levels of cancer recorded in Leixlip, County Kildare, and the other large towns in the county; when this information will be made available; the years for which the information will be available; if his attention has been drawn to the genuine concerns of residents in Leixlip at the high cancer rates in the town; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18309/00]

The National Cancer Registry collates data on the incidence of and mortality from cancer in this country. My Department has therefore asked the director of the registry to forward the information requested to the Deputy.
