Vol. 522 No. 2

Written Answers. - Local Authority Funding.

Michael Ring

Question:

304 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the locations where a grant sanctioned to a local authority (details supplied) was spent. [18289/00]

In July 1999 my Department sanctioned, on a once-off basis, the use of £800,000 of its internal capital receipts by Mayo County Council to fund the provision of central heating in its rented houses occupied by elderly persons. The council is responsible for the detailed planning and delivery of this programme and information on the locations where work was carried out might be sought from the Council as this information is not available to my Department.
