Question:

413 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the make, model and year of manufacture of the State car currently provided to a former Taoiseach (details supplied); the original purchase cost of the car to the Exchequer; the approximate annual running costs of the car incurred by the Exchequer; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 362 and 413 together.

The person in question is currently provided with a State car in common with all ex-Taoisigh. In this instance, the car is in excess of six years old. It was purchased as new for approximately £40,000 and the annual running cost of it, excluding drivers, is approximately £6,700.
