428 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the number of requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act, 1987, made to his Department in each of the past three years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18506/00]

A total of 143 freedom of infor mation requests were received by the Department of Tourism, Sport and Recreation up to and including 23 June 2000. The breakdown per year is as follows: 1998, 45; 1999, 69; 2000, 29 (up to 23 June 2000).
