Question:

514 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the names and numbers of public relations firms employed by him and or his Department in each of the past three years; the total cost in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18522/00]

One public relations firm was employed by my Department in the last three-year period from December 1996 to January 1997. The firm in question was Bill O'Herlihy Communications Group. The total amount paid during the period was £3,666. The directors of the company were as follows: Enda Hogan (Chairman), Bill O'Herlihy (Managing Director), Conor J. Donnelly, Andrew Kelly and Sean Connor.
