Vol. 522 No. 2

Written Answers. - Work Permits.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

83 Mr. Quinn asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will confirm the receipt of a work permit application from a restaurant (details supplied) in County Galway; if she has all the documentation needed to make a decision; the amount of time it will take to make a decision on the application; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [17924/00]

My Department has received an application for a work permit to employ the non-national named in the restaurant concerned.

I am advised that the Department has requested details of the prior attempts made by the applicant to recruit an Irish or other European economic area national for the position concerned and, as soon as this has been received, a decision will issue in the case.
