190 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason for the delay with the signing of the order to facilitate the extension of the urban boundaries of Killarney; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18628/00]
I have already agreed in principle to the extension of the urban district agreed between Killarney Urban District and Kerry County Council and have notified the local authorities of my position. Details of the necessary order and its implementation are being finalised by my Department. I expect that the order can be made in the near future, with provision to take effect from 1 January 2001.
