126 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason members of health boards are paid 7p a mile less in subsistence allowance than members of local authorities and vocational education committees for attending meetings and functions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18824/00]

The mileage rate paid to members of health boards for attending meetings and functions is equal to that which is paid to members of local authorities and vocational education committees.
