I propose to take Questions Nos. 169 to 171, inclusive, together.

The reply does not include internal committees, composed exclusively of civil servants.

Bodies established pursuant to statutory instrument: nil.

Bodies established otherwise than pursuant to statute or statutory instrument: the National Centre for Partnership and Performance, the National Economic and Social Council, NESC, the National Economic and Social Forum, NESF, the Liaison Committee on MediaLabEurope and Digital Media District Ltd, Campus and Stadium Ireland Ltd, the Information Society Commission, the Task Force on the Road Haulage Industry, the Committee on Infrastructural Development and Public Private Partnership, the Inter-Departmental Strategy Group on Employment and Unemployment, the Inter-Departmental Group on the Implementation of the Government's Action Plan for the Information Society, the Inter-Departmental Group on Access, the Cabinet Committee on European Affairs, the National Statistics Board, the National Millennium Committee, the IFSC Clearing House Group; and the IFSC Public Sector Group.

It is proposed that these five bodies be established on a statutory basis. The details are as follows.

It is intended to locate the National Economic and Social Forum, the National Economic and Social Council and the National Centre for Partnership and Performance in the Office for National Economic and Social Development. It is expected that the Bill establishing this Office will be published in 2001.

Digital Media District Ltd., and its board, have been established on an interim basis. DMD Ltd. is currently a private limited liability company but legislation will be prepared to establish it on a statutory basis.

Legislation will also be brought forward to establish Campus and Stadium Ireland on a statutory basis.
The following groups have been established in the Central Statistics Office: macro economics statistics liaison group, labour market statistics liaison group, agricultural statistics liaison group, business statistics liaison group, earnings statistics liaison group and Census 2001 user liaison group. There are no plans to create a statutory basis for these groups.
There are currently no proposals to establish additional bodies under the aegis of my Department.
Questions Nos. 170 and 171 taken with Question No. 169.
