Vol. 523 No. 2

Written Answers. - Incremental Credit.

Willie Penrose

Question:

230 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received correspondence from a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; his views on the contents thereof; if he will take steps to have this matter rectified in order to ensure that his remuneration reflects his experience and qualifications as a teacher; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20870/00]

Incremental credit may be awarded to second level teachers in respect of recognised teaching experience and-or relevant non-teaching experience. I have arranged to send the appropriate application forms for the award of incremental credit to the teacher referred to by the Deputy. When the completed forms are received the application will be processed in the normal way.
