158 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science if he is in possession of a psychologist report in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Cork who is attending a primary school (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will sanction the appointment of a resource teacher to the school in view of the identified need for additional educational resources to meet the person's requirement. My Department has received a copy of a psychological assessment report in respect of the child in question.

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that, arising from an evaluation of the child's needs, my Department has now sanctioned an allocation of part-time resource teaching support to assist the school in meeting this child's special needs.

The school authorities are being informed of this decision.
