Vol. 523 No. 3

Written Answers. - Public Private Partnerships.

Liam Lawlor

Question:

157 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he has yet received an interim or full report from the interdepartmental committee established to formulate guidelines for local authorities in setting up public private partnership for projects including sports, leisure and recreational facility provision; if he will respond in the specific context of the proposed 25 metre pool for Lucan for which South Dublin County Council is anxious to establish a public private partnership; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21002/00]

I have not yet received a copy of the report from the interdepartmental working group, which I established to examine the development of swimming facilities incorporating a public private partnership approach. However, I understand that this report will be finalised shortly. As regards the proposed swimming pool in Lucan, there is no proposal in my Department in relation to this project.
