Written Answers. - School Staffing.
My Department has sanctioned ten hours per week special needs assistant support and 3.5 hours per week resource teacher support for the school in question to assist in meeting the needs of the child referred to by the Deputy. However, I understand that the school has indicated to my Department that the brother of this child is not in fact attending the school.
I also understand that the school has very recently sought an increase in the level of special needs assistant support made available. I have asked my Department's inspectorate to consider the case made by the school.
