Vol. 523 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Question:

217 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 24 has yet to receive a hip operation in Tallaght Hospital in view of the fact that this person is on an urgent list for a considerable period of time and that her original application for such treatment dates from 2 June 1999; and if he will intervene directly with the hospital to ensure that this patient receives medical care as a matter of priority. [21689/00]

The responsibility for the provision of services at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital, incorporating the National Children's Hospital now rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.
