Vol. 523 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

315 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Education and Science when transport will be provided for a person (details supplied) attending school in County Monaghan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21737/00]

It is my Department's policy to facilitate Youthreach participants with incidental free transport on existing school services, subject to there being no extra cost involved.

It is not open to my Department to incur extra cost in facilitating Youthreach participants with transport, as they are already in receipt of an allowance, which includes an element to meet transport costs, to attend such programmes.
