Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

Liam Lawlor

Question:

164 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has formally responded to a joint letter from the chairperson of St. Thomas' national school and the chairperson of Scoil Áine Naofa, both of Esker, Lucan, County Dublin, asking that he confirm his agreement with the chairpersons' detailed understanding of remedial works at the two schools; and if he will make a statement on the status of any works currently under way (details supplied). [21841/00]

The letter referred to by the Deputy is currently being considered by my Department and a reply will be issued to the school authorities as soon as possible.

Works on the subdivision of a classroom have been carried out at St. Anne's and St. Thomas' national schools, Esker, Lucan. Tender documents are being prepared in relation to roof repairs and my Department is also considering a report on the drainage system at the schools.
