Vol. 524 No. 2

Written Answers. - Rehabilitation Service.

Dan Neville

Question:

309 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will provide resources to overcome the significant shortcomings which exist in the rehabilitation service for amputees in the mid-west region; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that this is a particularly acute problem in those who are under 75 and who cannot get access to rehabilitation physiotherapy. [22233/00]

The provision of health services, including rehabilitation services for people who are physically impaired, is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Mid-Western Health Board with a request that he examine the query and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
