Vol. 524 No. 2

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Michael Ring

Question:

431 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science if another meeting can be arranged urgently between all the interested parties including the school inspector, resource teacher, class teacher, psychologist and the parents of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo to discuss his educational needs and progress the case further. [22166/00]

A member of my Department's inspectorate, who has a responsibility in the special education area, has been in contact with the parents of the child in question with a view to arranging a meeting on a date which is suitable to all concerned. I understand that every effort is being made to ensure that this meeting takes place as soon as possible.
