Vol. 524 No. 2

Written Answers. - School Transport.

John McGuinness

Question:

440 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department will take the necessary action to make safe the bus park at the convent national school in Thomastown, County Kilkenny, in order that students can access the bus service in safety and the bus operator can avail of the bay which was designed for this purpose without obstruction; and if the appropriate signage and crossing can be provided. [22247/00]

I understand that the obstruction of the bus bay at the convent national school, Thomastown, County Kilkenny, is due to car parking for the purposes of either dropping off or collecting pupils. This problem is a matter which should be addressed by the board of management, which is responsible for the day to day running of the school.
