169 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 11 of 14 June 2000, he will comment on the Presidency report to the Feira European Council on strengthening the common European policy on security and defence which was approved at the summit. The Deputy's attention is drawn to comprehensive Dáil statements on this issue made by the Taoiseach on 27 June and on 3 October. Work on follow-up to the outgoing Portuguese Presidency's report to the Feira European Council is well under way and an overall report is to be submitted by the French Presidency to the European Council at Nice.
