Vol. 524 No. 4

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Jan O'Sullivan

Question:

93 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Finance if he has made any decision with regard to the future use of the former Garda station in Mayorstone, County Limerick, which has now been replaced by a new station; if he will consider proposals to use it for community purposes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22809/00]

The former Garda station in Mayorstone, Limerick, will be used temporarily as a driving test centre for the Department of the Environment and Local Government. This is to relieve pressure in the existing driving test centre at Woodview Shopping Centre.

The long-term issue of the disposal of the Garda station will be determined when the driver tester requirement is resolved permanently.
