Vol. 524 No. 6

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Michael Ring

Question:

205 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Finance the reason the Office of Public Works decided to relocate the new Garda station for Tourmakeady, County Mayo to a new site, when they were gifted a site in the past; the person from whom the new site was purchased; and the price that was paid in this regard. [23571/00]

The site to which the Deputy refers as having being gifted to the Office of Public Works is being exchanged with Tourmakeady GAA club for an alternative site of equivalent value. The exchange of sites is of mutual benefit. It will facilitate the GAA in developing their facilities and provide a serviced site closer to the village for the Garda station.
