Vol. 524 No. 6

Advisory Centre on World Trade Organisation Law: Motion.

I move:

That Dáil Éireann approves the terms of the Agreement establishing the Advisory Centre on World Trade Organisation Law, copies of which were laid before Dáil Éireann on 28 September 2000.

I understood from your superior, the Ceann Comhairle, that this business had been disposed of this morning. Why are we dealing with it now?

The motions relating to Abbeylara and the World Trade Organisation have been moved. They were not decided this morning. We now move on to item 7, Second Stage of the Teaching Council Bill, 2000.

With respect, this is exactly the point which led to a suspension of the House this morning when Deputy John Bruton raised with the Ceann Comhairle the fact that matters had not been sufficiently disposed of on the Order of Business.

We are deciding on two motions which were not decided this morning.

In other words, the Order of Business has not been disposed of.

The Ceann Comhairle moved on from the Order of Business but he did not get as far as putting the motion.

I am glad that has been clarified. The Order of Business was not disposed of this morning.

The Order of Business was disposed of this morning.

These motions have nothing to do with the Order of Business. We moved on from the Order of Business and these motions were the first and second items on the Order Paper today. The Ceann Comhairle had moved on from the Order of Business and he had reached the motions.

To what had he moved on?

He had moved on to the first motion, item 22, but he did not put it to the House.

Question put and agreed to.
