Vol. 525 No. 2

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Dan Neville

Question:

362 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a district inspector in the Limerick office of his Department will be replaced in view of the fact that beef premium files under appeal have not been dealt with since July 2000. [24815/00]

The Civil Service Commission has provided the Department with a list of 22 candidates who were successful at a competition for appointment to the assistant agricultural inspector grade. When the candidates are cleared by the commission for definitive appointment, the Department will offer them appointment in order of merit. When acceptances of the posts offered are received a replacement district inspector will be appointed in the Limerick office. In the meantime, files for review in that office are being dealt with by the district inspector for the midlands district and all reviews will be completed by 15 November 2000.
