Vol. 525 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

John McGuinness

Question:

267 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have investigations made into the accuracy of information being given to patients seeking gynaecological services at St. Lukes Hospital, Kilkenny, in order to allay the fears of patients who are being informed that the most minor of procedures are being affected due to lack of funding; if he will expedite the case of a person (details supplied) who is attending the hospital and cannot get an admission date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25648/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Kilkenny is, in this instance, the statutory responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the issues raised and reply to the Deputy directly.
