Vol. 525 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

John McGuinness

Question:

268 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in arranging an operation for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny, at St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin 4; the reason for the waiting list for such an urgent operation; and the plans he has in this regard. [25649/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons is, in this instance, the statutory responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has asked the regional chief executive officer of the authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and reply to the Deputy directly.
