Vol. 525 No. 5

Written Answers. - Community Involvement Schemes.

Gerry Reynolds

Question:

298 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason a contribution of 25% has to be paid by people who apply for community involvement schemes; and if he will reduce the contribution guideline to 10%. [25660/00]

In order to qualify for grant assistance under the non-national roads restoration programme, the level of contribution required, in money or kind, under the community involvement scheme must not be less than 25% of the total cost of individual projects. This level of contribution is considered reasonable and appropriate and there are no proposals to adjust it.
