Question:

30 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he will list the applications for funding made by the Olympic Council of Ireland in each of the past three years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25955/00]

The Olympic Council of Ireland submitted an application for funding totalling £579,985 in 1998 and £446,292 in 1999. A breakdown of the grants sought is included in the following table. The Irish Sports Council has been established on a statutory basis since 1 July 1999 and dealt with the Olympic Council of Ireland's application for funding in 2000. Accordingly, the Deputy's request for the information relating to 2000 has been forwarded to the Irish Sports Council.
