Question:

120 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if any member of the board of Enterprise Ireland is involved in manufacturing in the small or medium size sector; and if not, if she will arrange to appoint a member from the SME sector to the board. [26415/00]

Under section 9 (4) of the Industrial Development (Enterprise Ireland), Act 1998, I, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, have responsibility for the appointment of the members of the board of Enterprise Ireland other than the chief executive officer. The Act provides for the chief executive officer's membership of the board.

The board comprises of 12 members with experience and knowledge of a broad range of enterprise sectors, including manufacturing in the SME sector.
