Vol. 526 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

193 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 2000 cattle headage and suckler cow premium. [27296/00]

The 2000 area aid application for the person named was selected for inspection in accordance with EU regulations. The results of this inspection will be returned to the area aid unit within the next week and when received will be processed without delay. It will then be possible to process for payment his application under the 2000 cattle headage scheme.

The person named also submitted an application under the 2000 suckler cow premium scheme. However, as he does not hold a suckler cow quota he is not entitled to any grants under this scheme in accordance with clause 12(c) of the terms and conditions of the 2000 suckler cow premium scheme.

Question:

194 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive a 2000 cattle headage and suckler cow premium. [27298/00]

The person named included 21.99 hectares in his 2000 area aid application. An area of 21.76 hectares was determined which is some 0.23 hectares or 1.06% less than the area claimed.

Under Article 9 of EU Regulation 3887/92, no penalty is applied when the difference is less than 3%. Therefore in this case no penalty is applied, leaving the area determined for payment purposes at 21.76 hectares. Any payments due will issue as soon as possible.

Question:

195 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 2000 cattle and sheep headage in view of the fact that he resolved all problems with his area aid three years ago. [27299/00]

The person named furnished an incomplete 2000 area aid application in that he did not include a map for a new parcel of land on which he is claiming area aid. Maps have now issued to the applicant so that he can outline the parcel of land concerned. When these are returned his application will be processed with a view to ensuring that any payments due can be made as soon as possible.
