Vol. 526 No. 6

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

John Dennehy

Question:

406 Mr. Dennehy asked the Minister for Education and Science if any consideration has been given to putting the examination papers for the junior and leaving certificate examinations onto disc to facilitate students with disabilities who need to use computers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27545/00]

In line with the recommendations of the expert advisory group in relation to the arrangements for the assessments of candidates with special needs in the certificate examinations, my Department is giving consideration to extending further the range of formats for accessing questions which could include the provision of question papers on disc.
